Mimmo Rotella at Panorama Monopoli
Cardi Gallery presents two masterpieces by the pioneer of the Italian Pop Art movement, Mimmo Rotella.
Organized by Italics.art and curated by De Bellis Vincenzo, the city-wide exhibition offers to the public a contemporary art itinerary dialoguing with the city of Monopoli, its art, architecture and landscapes, and it is enriched with a programme of collateral events, performances and special projects.
“Leda Col Cigno” (1987) e “Comunicazioni Internazionali” (1992) will be on view in the magnificent location of Palazzo Martinelli (Via Orazio Comes, 26). Three metres high, these metal sheets testify to the technique par excellence used by Mimmo Rotella, the decollage. The artist, indeed, made décollage and torn poster sections his hallmark.
